The Leadership Team

Good leadership is vital to any organisation. At ECF we are committed to encouraging everyone to become a leader of others as we follow Jesus' command to 'make disciples.' Jennifer and I are so grateful for the wonderful leadership God has given us. Each one of our Leadership Team has been tried and tested. We love to get together to seek the Lord's will for the church and to work through the challenges we encounter on the way. This unity overflows into our own cell groups and then into the other church cells. Each cell leader is committed to the Lord's plans for us and they have a heart to encourage their cell members to be all they can for God.

Team Members Profile

Tom and Jennifer Paton
Having started his working life in the bank, Tom felt God leading him into full time Christian ministry when he was 26.  He helped to lead The Haven Christian Fellowship, a house church which had begun 2 years before.  In 1987 the Haven merged with the Elim Church and Tom served under the leadership of Pastor John Seaman until John’s retirement in 1999.  Tom’s ministry is marked by his prophetic edge and his love for people.  Tom serves full time as the Senior Pastor. Jennifer married Tom in 1988 having made a radical decision to follow Jesus only a year before.  This dramatic change of lifestyle has marked her with a passion to win people for Jesus and see them live wholeheartedly.  She works on the church staff, leads the Women’s Net and teaches on Equipped to Serve. Their vision is for the church to be people who are passionate lovers of God, trained to make disciples in cells, and who have great influence in the world around them. Tom and Jennifer also have four children - Calum, Euan, Neil and Hannah.

Robert and Elizabeth were in the Elim Church during its early days, and were married there in 1967.  They have two children, Peter and Gail, and four grandchildren. Annemarie grew up in Switzerland and discovered relationship with God through reading the bible.  Having worked in missions for many years, she came to Scotland and met Robert.  Annemarie is very creative, especially in her ministry to young children.

Robert and Cathy Stevenson
Robert and Cathy were part of the Elim Church in its earliest days and have seen the church change beyond all recognition! In 2001, Stephen joined the church staff and will be ordained an Elim Minister in 2010.
